Here we go! Season 7! FINALLY! It starts off with a crash (car crash) and some unknown man gets kidnapped while his
daughter screams helplessly from the car. We don't see her again so it's unsure if she's saved, although the terrorists didn't
take her so I assume she's ok. Next we are reintroduced to TONY who is evil now. And it makes me want to cry. It's not
fair, but such is '24'. Jack comes on screen next, sitting in a senate hearing and being bullied by a senator who doesn't
give Jack enough credit for the good he did. He just wants to focus on the bad. Then Jack is pulled away by the FBI because
Tony and his thugs are hacking into tech systems and Jack has to stop them. Of course. Jack can't save the world if he's
being arraigned. As Jack leaves the senator calls up another witness to the CTU hearing, and I can't help but wonder who
that witness is. Jack was a witness, so maybe it's someone else we know? We're never told. Boo. Tony and his thugs are
making the kidnapped man build a CIP (I think) board which I don't really understand about. But it can do bad things, as
they show with the airplanes. Meanwhile, President Taylor is trying to help out the good guys in Sangala and wants to send
in troops. We learn that her son Roger is dead (!!! red flag!!!) and it is supposedly a suicide. I think not. So does the
First Man. He has suspicions that his son was murdered. I think it was that Hodges man (Jon Voight). I KNOW it was him.
Or at least he knows about it. He had Roger's friend murdered and he's helping fund Djuma in Sangala, which is very bad.
There's a bunch of new characters, and to be honest they seem a lot like our old CTU buddies. Janis reminds me a lot like
Chloe (I like her, though; Janeane Garufalo is brilliant here. A natural.), Sean Hillinger is the new Milo (not quite and
Edgar; no one can replace Edgar), and Moss stands in place of Bill, but he's not Bill. He's not as suave and charismatic.
He's a little stiff (Bill kind of is too, but Bill has a soft side, and I don't think this new guy has one) and way to irritable.
I miss CTU, but I can handle these new guys. It's been a little slow so far; nothing too exciting yet. But I like the new
president; she's tough. Cherry Jones is a perfect fit and she plays her with style. Unfortunately, I don't think she knows
what she's getting into. She has her heart in the right place, but I wonder what will happen when the terrorists start to
really attack.
