In memorium

Saddest death:
it's so hard to choose; so many have died and many were people we loved (case in point: David Palmer, Tony Almeida!, and
Edgar.....) but when it comes to the saddest death, it has to be Terri. We thought Jack was invincible, tough, rock solid.
And then Terri died. And Jack died too. Sort of; it was depressing. Nina did it! Poor Terri's bad day got worse. And
so did Jack's. Our hero even went into depression in season two. Everyone was always on him about wanting to seek revenge
on Nina; can you blame him? It wasn't just that Terri was nice and a good mom and a sweet person. She was Jack's family.

Worst (and most depressing) death:
Poor George. How we miss thee (and Tony too; CTU isn't the same without you...). How much would it suck to die of radiation
poisoning? I can guess quite a bit. At first we didn't really like George. He didn't want to work at CTU, he complained,
he didn't like Jack, and then we found out that he stole money and did questionable things. And then it was hinted that he
might be the bad guy hiding at CTU!! (but that was Nina) He even tried to skip town to save himself from the nuke. But then
he started to have second thoughts and responded to Tony's request that he follow a lead on the bomb. He did, and then fate
took over. George got sick. CTU got bombed. And George's true colors shown. He wasn't going to let this bomb go off.
He was going to do whatever it took to stop it. He mended ties with Jack and Tony and his son. He came clean with Jack.
George turned out to be a very good person and we ended up liking him. Plus he had a long, painful, awful death. Up until
the point where he flew the plane and the nuke into the Mojave desert. George's final moments are the most depressing for
the entire show. His death might not have been particularly sad, but how he died and how he tried to redeem himself was especially
heartbreaking. George was a hero in ways that no one else, not even Jack, has yet to be. We forgive you your faults, George.
CTU misses you. (I still think he deserved the silent clock after he actually died, not when he left CTU. But it worked
at that moment too). And I'm not going to lie, I cried when George died and went into depression mode for a few episodes
afterwards.
How could we forget this:

Best Bauer moment:
It has to be the bit in season six where Jack is so pissed at his day and the terrorists and all they have done that when
he finally finds Fayed he goes mental and just about slaughters everyone in the warehouse. Jack is known for killing when
he needs to, sometimes a bit brutally (nastiest death also comes from season six), but this scene was Jack to the extreme.
He loses it completely and only recovers his senses when everyone is dead and the last nuke is secure and the threat is over
(for the moment....). Mike Doyle put it perfectly at this moment when he arrives at the scene post-Jack attack, looks around,
and says, 'Damn, Jack'.
don't ask me to include biggest shocks or worst (as in saddest scenes); there are just too many (but Jack finding dead
Terri and George going down with the plane would probably tie for first place with regards to worst/saddest scene.....)
Notably quotable:
There are waaaaaay too many good quotes to put down here. And I can't pick a favorite; there are too many good ones and
are the best in their own right. But here are some that particularly stand out, for whatever reason.
Cheng Zhi--'You surely must be aware, Mr. Bauer, that China has a long memory.'
Kiefer Sutherland--'Previously, on "24"....'
Chase Edmunds--'Jack, are you alright? I mean, you look like hell.'
Jack--'What did you just say to me?!....I like you , Chase. You're a nice kid. But don't you ever walk into my office
and talk to me like that again, do you understand me?'
Bill Buchanan--'Chloe, we are in an active code, we don't have time for your personality disorder, you understand me?'
George Mason--'Nice work, Jack. Have you ever noticed there's a body count everywhere you go?'
Chloe--'As usual, Edgar, we can't hear you. Also, where's your laptop in case you need to pull data?'
Edgar--'I'm sorry, I'll speak up. And, uh, I don't need my laptop, I have everything memorized.'
Chloe--'You're a geek, Edgar, but you're a good guy. Stay that way.'
Edgar--'I don't really have a choice.'
Edgar--'I shouldn't do this, Curtis. I could faint. I feel very nauseous. I have low blood sugar.'
Curtis Manning--'It's just Driscoll and Heller.'
Edgar--'Driscoll's in there too?!'
Mike Doyle--'Damn, Jack....'
George--'Easy, boys. I like my skin.'
President Palmer--'This is probably the last time we will ever speak. Jack, do you understand--when you hang up, for
all intents and purposes, Jack Bauer is dead.'
Jack--'I understand that, sir. Mr. President, it's been an honor.'
Palmer--'Same for me, my friend.'
George--'Off the record, what's so special about Jack Bauer?'
Jack--'I am Federal Agent Jack Bauer, and this is the longest day of my life.'
Jack--'Today is the second anniversary of Victor Dresen's death.'
George--'Happy anniversary!'
