So I've begun by looking back on the previous seasons and recounting them for you with my thoughts. We begin with season
one.....
how is it that such a depressing show can be so good and so well liked? I can't say that this was the
most depressing season but it was pretty bad.....poor Terri and Kim's ordeal with Gaines and his men and then Terri's end
proved that no one is safe in this series. And what about Jaime and Nina? Especially Nina!!! We trusted her! She was so
good! She helped everyone! Raise your hand if you felt betrayed and crushed by her turning out to be evil. Senator Palmer's
story is interesting, and evil Sherry gets what she deserves in the end. Haha. And bye bye Terri; we will miss you. The
story lines here are a little shaky, but this was the first season and we were introduced to just what we were setting ourselves
up for from here on out. Can't say we weren't warned.......
Season two began to establish a pattern; anyone can
die at anytime. Anything goes here. Kim's plot line was less than exciting (and I don't just mean the cougar; I mean the
entire thing-Megan was especially annoying; all she did was whine). And the typical '24' story line began to emerge: halfway
through the season the plot branches off, while tying up the main or first half of the plot. I can't decide which season
was more depressing; the first or the second. Here we say good-bye to George Mason; bye bye George. What a sucky way to
die. We also assume we say bye to Nina, and we are mad that Jack does not get revenge. But we are appeased in the next year......Tony
and Michelle hook up (hooray!) and Tony gets large and in charge (at the loss of George though). Season two is also more
violent. Wow. Sherry also proves that she's less evil than we thought, but still pretty bad. We also learn that nowhere
is safe; CTU gets bombed!!!!! It might be cool to work there, but it's not the safest place.
Season three upped
the angst, if it was even possible. Biological weapons!! The whole sting operation was a little jaunty, but it proved to
work plot wise and gave us some adrenaline rushes. Poor Jack's life has gotten worse; he's got terrorists and now he's addicted
to heroin. Season three is definitely the most adrenaline fueled season so far, and has given us more plot twists than we
can count. Super terrorists arise here. We also meet President Palmer's brother. Evil Sherry comes back and is not so evil
here, in fact, we almost like her. But she dies; so it goes. We also get some super slimy villains here, Stephen Saunders
and Michael Amador (the actor was in all three 'Pirates' films......Jerry Bruckheimer and Gore Verbinski watch '24' too, maybe?
Cool.). Bad men. But justice is served......at the expense of Ryan Chappelle in the end. Not the greatest character, but
it was still a sad end. Nina comes back, and as we hoped, Jack gets his revenge. Bye bye Nina. Revenge is sweet, as you
know.
