TONY IS NOT EVIL!!!!! OMG!!! Biggest plot twist ever! For this season! Jack and Tony face off and Tony says some not very
nice things about Jack's past and Terri. Alas Terri! I really liked her. It starts out really depressing. Jack looks at
Tony and Tony has no remorse. Jack can't believe his friend is evil. 'I watched you die in my arms,' says Jack. We don't
need a reminder. We'll cry again. Tony doesn't care. But he says he joined Emerson because he lost everything when Michelle
was murdered and blames the government and wants revenge. I figured as much. That was what I was thinking was the reason.
Tensions rise and then Jack flies at Tony (not through the air this time, although in the 'Previously, on '24' intro we get
a nice shot of Jack flying off the boat at Tony from the previous hour, and there's a punch thrown in there as he's flying!
I missed that last time!) and starts choking him. Tony has had enough (he'd rather not die now) and gives Jack a code word,
'deep sky' (I know, 'Deep throat' came to mind too). Jack calls someone (what number and how did he get it or know to call
it?) and someone with a deep voice picks up the phone. But suddenly--plot twist!--a voice changing device is removed from
the phone of the person Jack called and it's BILL!! Bill is here!! And so is Chloe! PAR-TAY! Apparently Tony has been
working with them undercover to bring down Dubaku and Djuma. Evil if afoot in Washington and they are here to stop it. As
prior events have taught them, they can't trust anyone, so it's just the three of them (plus Jack eventually) trying to stop
the evil. Pretty awesometastic. Jack must follow Tony undercover to get to Emerson and Dubaku, and Jack doesn't look too
thrilled, but it must be done. I wonder how he feels about reverting back to his old ways. Before that, there's an uber
fun scene where Jack breaks Tony out of the FBI office. Jack takes out Moss and Renee Walker and a security guard. Oh yeah.
It's great to see Jack and Tony back together working side by side. This hour is so better than the last two. Over at the
White House, Dubaku has threatened to use the CIP device to kill people if the president doesn't call off the navy and stop
helping the rebels in Sangala who are trying to overthrow Djuma. So it begins. Taylor looks like she never thought this
would happen to her. And again, I feel bad for her. Though she must have heard what the previous presidents had gone through
so she should have suspected that it might happen to her too. She wants to keep the troops in Africa because to pull them
out would mean thousands of Sangalans would die. But to not do so would mean that Americans would die. She kind of reminds
me of David Palmer (more sadness!) in that she doesn't let others influence her decision (her aide, Ethan, tells her to pull
out of Sangala, but she can't just leave the people there to die; they're counting on America). I think Palmer made a similar
decision in past seasons (in season two he called off the military planes because the Cyprus recording was false, even though
everyone else thought it wasn't, and remember what happened to him then? But he turned out to be very right, so maybe Taylor
will make the right decision in the end too, but we shall see). Taylor doesn't really remind me of Daniels or Keeler and
certainly not Logan, but she sometimes reminds me of Palmer (David not Wayne), even though she's still her own person. Her
husband, meanwhile, meets with Samantha again who says that she lied earlier and that Roger WAS murdered. I KNEW IT!!! Apparently
she was told by the bad guys that if she tattled she would die. There is also a leak in the White House though I have no
suspicions as to who it is yet (could be Ethan or could be Mr. Taylor's young man security guard, because they are the only
other staff people we have met so far). The FBI leak hasn't been found yet. And there is going to be hell to pay when they
find Jack. Oh, and there's also an awesome moment when Bill rescues Tony and Jack from the FBI after they escape. Bill driving
a huge terrorist van and doing illegal things. Go Bill.
